The Rolex Deepsea is one of the most purpose-built watches Rolex has ever produced, designed for extreme conditions and serious underwater use. This Rolex Deepsea reference 116660 dates from 2014 and was recently purchased by us from a client in Brighton, who has owned the watch from new.
Built around a 44mm Oystersteel case, the Deepsea 116660 was engineered using Rolex’s Ringlock System, giving it an extraordinary water resistance of 3,900 metres. Despite its technical capability, it remains surprisingly wearable thanks to its well-balanced case design and Glidelock clasp.
The Deepsea is unapologetically functional. The black dial is clear and legible, the bezel is ceramic and scratch-resistant, and the overall feel is solid and reassuring. This is a Rolex designed to do a job, not follow trends, which is exactly why it has such lasting appeal.
Powered by Rolex's calibre 3135, the 116660 offers proven reliability and accuracy, making it suitable for daily wear despite its professional specifications.
This example is supplied as a full set, including original box and papers, and has been owned by the same client since new in 2014. The watch will be available from mid Feb.
The watch was purchased from a Brighton-based owner, and we regularly buy and sell Rolex watches for clients across Tunbridge Wells, Kent and East Sussex, including Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Maidstone.
