Early Rolex GMT-Master II 116713 – Mark 1 from 2006

Rolex GMT Master 116713

Recently purchased from a client in Herne Bay, this Rolex GMT-Master II reference 116713 is an early example from 2006, supplied as a full set and recently serviced by Rolex.

Finished in steel and yellow gold, the 116713 introduced a more modern take on the GMT-Master II, combining classic functionality with updated materials and proportions.

An early Mark 1 example

This watch is from the earlier part of the production run and is often referred to as a Mark 1. It also features an engraved rehaut, a detail Rolex introduced during this period as part of its move towards enhanced security and modernisation.

The combination of early dial characteristics and transitional features makes these pieces particularly interesting within the reference.

A practical GMT

Housed in a 40mm case, the 116713 remains a highly wearable watch. The GMT function allows tracking of a second time zone, while the two-tone construction adds warmth and presence on the wrist without being overly bold.

It is a straightforward, functional Rolex that still feels current today.

Condition and background

This example is supplied as a full set and benefits from a recent Rolex service, giving confidence for its next owner. The watch is currently being cleaned and polished and will be available for sale soon.
